Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is a classical soft adventure trek, nestled between the mighty Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri mountains on the border of upper Mustang, popularly known as the Himlayan Shangri- La. One of the most ancient trade routes in the Trans- Himalayan circuit for trading salt in those days passes through interesting villages, local people donkeys and mule trains. Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is an exceptional view trek surpassing an astounding elevation of over 3000m. A spectacular diverse region of deep valleys high mountains engulfing the mammoth Annapurna Mountain range along with indigenous people of ethnic groups, vast sub-tropical forests, dry arid rugged terrains and landscapes resembling the high Tibetan plateau adds to the beauty of this region. The trek reaching the monumental altitude of 3,800m is easily achievable by anybody having a moderate level of fitness. One of the finest and marvelous adventure encounters that kick-starts from the world’s deepest gorge the Kali- Gandaki and passes through tree less barren landscapes, followed by a steep rocky trail up and down combined with wonderful 360 degree panoramic view of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and numerous other peaks.

Jomsom Muktinath Trekking starts with a long scenic drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu. A green filled drive takes you as far as Nayapul from where the actual trek starts. The initial steady trek leads us to Ghorepani, where we are greeted by marvelous colorful orchids in full bloom and spreading radiance of its vibrant colors amidst the clear views of the towering mountains is simply awesome specially the Mount Annapurna and Mount Dhaulagiri both standing tall at the vicinity of more than 8000 meters. Trekking through this region we come across Poon Hill ascending through rice terraces and indigenous villages occupied largely by Gurung communities shared along with Magar, Thakalis, Brahmins and Chhetri’s. A large proportion of our time is consumed by an enchanting day’s walk all along the landscapes encountered every day. An interesting and pleasantly surprising element awaits us ahead at Tatopani (hot spring water) a trickling hot water sprout allowing a sense of relaxation from an enduring adventurous excursion. Moving on after spending a quality time at Tatopani, the grandeur of Dhaulagiri glacier makes us speechless and provides us with pleasant windy jitters of the Tibetan plateau making way towards the holy Hindu pilgrimage site of Muktinath. An extraordinary place of natural elements which surprises tourist about its evolvement in the form of a miraculous eternal blue flame which has been aflame since centuries and is believed to be lighted by hindu god the Brahma. After having thoroughly admired the supernatural wonder and mythical existence of this flame we descend down towards the Jomsom village on the Tibetan plateau where we can glorify the gateway said to be “The Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang”. An, ancient place of, traditional trade route linking, India and Tibet and also a place where age old practices are still followed very ardently. This brings us to the brink of our exquisite journey here in Jomsom and from here we fly back to Pokhara and then back to Kathmandu.

Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is an absorbing encounter, captivates your imagination thrills you entirely till the edge of your emotions and expectations. As it can be attempted and completed by anybody possessing a moderate level of fitness. One time is certainly not enough for this diversified trekking journey into the towering mountain peaks, gorgeous valleys, picturesque villages, sacred historical shrines and rivers. Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1 Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Our Representative will be receiving you at the Airport. You will be then transferred via four wheel transport to your respective Hotel. You will be explained briefly about the program while you are on your way to Hotel as we also provide you the detail Itinerary. Rest of the day varies with your arrival time; we can organize some activities if you arrived by midday or early afternoon but late afternoon and evening arrivals have a free day for individual activities.

Day 2 Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing. Over night at hotel in kathmandu.

Sightseeing starts with a visit to Bhaktapur Durbar square where it’s major attractions are Golden Gate, Nyatapole, 55 Window Palace, The Temple of Bhairavnath, Dattratraya Temple. After the visit of Bhaktapur, We continue our tour ahead to Patan Durbar Square to explore Krishna Mandir and Patan museum.  Afterwards, head on to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa. Then, On the way back to your hotel you can have a quick look at Pashupatinath Temple.

The rest of your time in Kathmandu is free for further exploration and some last-minute shopping in shopping areas nearby your hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 3 Day 03: Fly to Pokhara.Drive to Nayapul (Start point of trek) and Trek to Tirkhedhunga. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse

Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes approx 25 minutes flight and straight drive to Nayapul, starting point of the trek. Subsequently, trek to Tirkhedhunga which will be a very easy trek on same day consuming 2-3 hours of your time. Relax and enjoy the scenery, walk around the village. Overnight at Lodge/Tea House

Day 4 Day 04: Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

Continue on to the village of Tirkedunga from where it is a steep climb on an infamous 2,767-step stone staircase to Ulleri.  From here the trail continues through beautiful forest until one reaches the pass at Ghorapani.  App walking time 4 to 5 hours. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

Day 5 Day 05: Trek from Ghorepani to Tatopani. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

The morning ascent takes us eastwards for about an hour until we come to the crest of the hill. For a brief period, the trail becomes fairly even before it descending through thick forest to Banthati where we stop for lunch. Banthati is a small place comprising of a few houses turned into lodges and restaurants. From here we descend for another hour before climbing a steep hill at the top of which lies Tadapani. Tadapani comprises of a few nicely built houses turned into lodges. The people here are all from Ghandrung and they settled here just for the purpose of setting up in business for the trekker who pass this way. A more central and close-up view of Machapuchare can be enjoyed from here. App walking time 6 hours. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

Day 6 Day 06: Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

The trail now follows the Kali Gandaki river under the deep gorge by 2200m in between two 8000m mountains Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Continuing along to Dana, the trail further ascends to the Thakali village Ghasa. Ghasa is paradise for the watchers, where you can see different species Himalayan birds.Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

 

Day 7 Day 07: Trek from Ghasa to Marpha. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

Begin your trek to Marpha. Your journey passes through Kalopani from where you can see stunning views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri at Larjung village. Continue your walk to reach Marpha, the Apple Capital of Nepal  which produces apple and vegetable for the whole region. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

Day 8 Day 08: Trek from Marpha to Kagbeni. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

Start your walk early in the morning to cross the Jomsom valley. It is an easy day walking through the bank of the river to arrive at Kagbeni. 3 hours walking, you will reach Kagbeni. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

Day 9 Day 09: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

Begin your journey towards Muktinath, for this you make a steep climb up the Jhong Khola valley leaving Kagbeni. We walk onwards to Muktinath – an important pilgrimage destination for Hinduism and Buddhism with a Gompa and Pagoda style temples. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

Day 10 Day 10: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

The trail from Muktinath to Jomsom is straight down and you will find it quit easy to walk. Jomsom is the district headquarters of Mustang District and is a large town with many facilities. Overnight at Lodge/Teahouse.

Day 11 Day 11: Jomsom to Pokhara by flight, Sightseeing Pokhara. Overnight at Hotel in Pokhara.

Early morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, Relax in Pokhara. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

Day 12 Day 12: Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Today, depart Pokhara and transfer to Kathmandu; 200 Kms, 6 hours drive.Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 13 Day 13: Final Departure.

Our office staff will come to pick up you from the hotel to the airport for your final departure.Return back to your hometown taking with you the best memories of a lifetime………….. We wish for the safe and happy journey back to your home.
