Mera Peak climbing – Symmetrically perfect and standing erect at (6,461m) is an extraordinarily stunning mountain situated on the edge of the famous Khumbu region is certainly one of the most sought after trekking peaks in Nepal. Dominated by Mount Everest is a straightforward climb frequently ascended by groups or individuals, having enduring abilities and passionate about scaling a mountain peak. One of the thorough fulfillers of the most spectacular views of the entire Himalayan range such as Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse and Cho-oyu all standing toweringly tall at an altitude ranging in the vicinity of 8000 meters and a bit more.

Mera Peak climbing commences from the scenic valley of Lukla, taking us through interesting forested paths and trails, traversing across several passes until one reaches the Mera itself. Although technically not that difficult the participants at times are required to ascend with the help of ice-axes and crampons. A rewarding experience providing as it provides magnificent views of the mountain vistas from high camp, we can get a sweeping glimpse of Kanchenjunga, Chamlang, and Makalu to the east. Mount Everest and Lhotse to the north, Ama Dablam and Cho-oyu to the west. A stunning view one of its kind one can get in Nepal. As we head towads north face glacier which is a steady rise to the summit ridge and happens to be the final frontier exposing the entire top range to our amazement. After accomplishing this dramatic climb we steadily descend and retrace ourselves back towards Lukla to board a flight back to Kathmandu.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1 Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2 Day 02: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Chutanga (3,430 m/11,250 ft): 3-4 hours.Overnight at Tea House/Lodge.
Day 3 Day 03: Trek to Thuli Kharka (4320m/13200ft) via Zwatra la (4600 m/14720 ft): 5-6 hours. Overnight at Tea House/Lodge.
Day 4 Day 04: Trek to Kothe (3600 m, /11808ft): 5-6 hours. Overnight at Tea House/Lodge.
Day 5 Day 05: Trek to Thaknak (4,350m/14,270ft): 3-4 hours.Overnight at Tea House/Lodge.
Day 6 Day 06: Thaknak to Khare (5,045m/16,486ft): 2-3 hours.Overnight at Tea House/Lodge.
Day 7 Day 07: Rest day in Khare/Acclimatisation. Overnight at Tea House/Lodge.
Day 8 Day 08: Khare to Mera Base Camp (5300m/17,384ft): 3-4 hours. Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 9 Day 09: Mera Base Camp to High camp (5,780m/18,958ft): 4-5 hours. Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 10 Day 10: Mera High Camp to Summit (6,461m/21,1907ft) and back to base camp (5300m): 8-9 hours. Overnight at Tented camp.
Day 11 Day 11: Mera Base Camp to Khare (5045m). Overnight at Tea House/Lodge.
Day 12 Day 12: Khare to Kothe (3600m/11808ft): 4-5 hours. Overnight at Tea House/Lodge.
Day 13 Day 13: Kothe to Thuli Kharka: 5-6 hours. Overnight at Tea House/Lodge.
Day 14 Day 14: Thuli Kharka to Lukla: 6-7 hours. Overnight at Tea House/Lodge.
Day 15 Day 15: Fly to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu
Day 16 Day 16: Final Departure.

Price Includes

  • All Airport and hotel transfer.
  • Three nights’ accommodation in a star category hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Full board meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trek.
  • Kathmandu city tours including: all entry fees, tour guide and private vehicle.
