Annapurna Trekking region is a mixed bag of surprising elements related to trekking. Revealing its extraordinary facets of symmetrical snow-capped lined peaks, free flowing pristine rivers, deep gorges, Hindu temples Buddhist monasteries, picturesque villages filled with varieties of ethnic and indigenous people makes it exciting and thrilling throughout the entire trekking journey. The journey to the Annapurna region is all about carefully carved terraced fields, vibrantly shredded mosaics of green and yellow patches on the steep hillsides presents a color dipped contrasting charm to the visitors in every glance all around the region. Moving further away from, the villages into the inner dense forest the vegetation changes from tamed green to wildest of thick green shades and deep as well along the trail into the deep gorges ever present in the distance of few kilometers. As, we move along the vegetation changes to tropical where lichens and mosses hang in wispy straggles from branches. Higher up in the rain-shadow belt the mountains are bare and brown revealing jagged edges and cliffs. The altitude below represents and changes into flat roofed village houses blend well with the harsh rugged terrain this landscape and way of life is purely Tibetan, which is completely immersed in lama prayers in the gompas, sturdily built yaks grazing in the high pastures. The lower settlements are thick comprising of different cultural communities such as the Brahmins, Chhetris, Magars, Gurung and Thakali, where all the activities are performed with the help of donkeys instead of yaks who serve as laborious pack animals. Annapurna region is one such region which provides spectacular views of Himalayan mountain ranges of Mt. Annapurna, Annapurna South, Mt.Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, and Machhapuchre (Fish Tail Mountain).
