“As the dew is dried by the morning sun so are the sins of mankind by the sight of the Himalaya….for in them are Kailash & Manasarovar.” – Sakunda Purana. Since times immemorial, when the first Aryans crossed the Himalaya into the Indian subcontinent, Mount Kailash has been celebrated in Hindu mythology as a sacred mountain, the centre of the earth, he navel of the universe. Our trip starts with a flight to Lhasa where several day are spent before driving across the vast Tibetan plateau west towards Mount Kailash & Lake Manasarovar. From the foot of the mountain we take a 3 day trek, with full sherpa support around Mount Kailash. We return to Kathmandu by road via Khasa. In: Fly Kathmandu/Lhasa Out: Drive Kathmandu.
