Along the journey, you get to witness lush forests of rhododendron, rocky trails, along with colourful temples and monasteries amidst the soaring peaks. You'll get the opportunity to explore the Gorkha Palace, epicenter of 2015 Earthquake in Barpak, along with magnificent views of Manaslu 8,163m, Ganesh Himal 7,429m, Siring Himal 7,165m and Himal Chuli 7,893m.
Historically, the terms "Gurkha" and "Gorkhali" were synonymous with "Nepali", tracing their origins to the Gorkha Kingdom, a hill principality that served as the foundation for the expansion of the Kingdom of Nepal. It was from Gorkha that the Kingdom of Nepal expanded under Prithvi Narayan Shah, who was the final King of the Gorkha Kingdom to the inaugural monarch of the unified Kingdom of Nepal.
The Lower Manaslu region has emerged as a poignant destination for dark tourism, where visitors come to witness the aftermath of the catastrophic 2015 earthquake. Some choose to reside among the affected locals, seeking to understand and empathize with the hardships and sorrow borne by the community.
