Overview

Draw a line connecting the three of the most popular destinations in Nepal, you’ll find yourself making a triangle, thus the name Golden Triangle.

The Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, and Chitwan have been major draws for tourists visiting Nepal for centuries. The Kathmandu Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the cultural heart of Nepal, with its rich history, architecture, and religious sites. Pokhara, situated at the foothills of the Annapurna range, has been a gateway for trekkers and adventurers. Chitwan National Park, established in 1973, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a significant conservation area for endangered species like the one-horned rhinoceros and Bengal tiger.

The Golden Triangle of Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan offers a diverse range of experiences for tourists, from cultural immersion to outdoor adventures and wildlife safaris. This combination of attractions has made it a popular tourist circuit, attracting visitors from around the globe.

The Kathmandu Valley's cultural and historical sites, such as the Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and the Durbar Squares, provide a glimpse into Nepal's rich cultural heritage. Pokhara, with its stunning natural scenery and opportunities for trekking and adventure sports, appeals to outdoor enthusiasts. Chitwan National Park, on the other hand, offers a unique wildlife experience, with jungle safaris, elephant rides, and opportunities to learn about the local Tharu culture.

Mountain Tiger is renowned for its adept leadership on treks, boasting experienced guides and attentive staff who cater to every aspect of your journey for nearly two decades. As a certified sustainable travel operator, we wholeheartedly support the concept of community contribution, engaging in diverse philanthropic endeavors.

You have two options for booking your flight to and from Nepal: you can either book directly through our platform, or you can reach out to us, as our sister company is an IATA certified ticketing agency, and they can assist you with the booking process.

The best time for the Golden Triangle Tour is during the pre-monsoon (spring) season (March to early June) and post-monsoon (autumn) season (Mid September to November) when the weather is relatively stable, and the skies are clear.

We recommend having cash of around USD 15-20; it should suffice for any additional costs you may need for a day.

Generally travelling solo does cost more compared to traveling with a group, as you’ll be responsible for covering all costs independently that includes food, accommodation, transportation and even leverage in negotiation. However, our program is structured to minimize additional expenses for solo travelers, requiring additional costs only for private trips or in the event of tour date postponements.

It's advisable to dress modestly out of respect for local customs and traditions, especially when visiting religious sites such as temples or monasteries. While there isn't a strict dress code for most attractions, it's best to avoid clothing that is too revealing or inappropriate for a cultural setting. If we'll be visiting any sites with specific dress code requirements, such as temples or religious monuments, we’ll surely inform you in advance so you can dress accordingly.

We advise against consuming street food in Nepal without consulting us first, as only a few vendors maintain proper hygiene standards. Additionally, it's important to take precautions such as wearing a pollution mask during tours, applying sunscreen and wearing a sun hat to shield yourself from the sun's rays, and only drinking filtered water to ensure your safety and well-being.

Tipping is customary during treks in Nepal but less common during tours. While Nepal doesn't have a strong tipping culture, it's entirely optional if you choose to tip and the amount is at your discretion.

Mountain Tiger Nepal has cancellation and refund policies. Please visit our terms and conditions page for more information.
