The Poon Hill trek is one of the shorter treks in Nepal done in the Annapurna Region. The trek starts from Pokhara, one of the most beautiful cities of Nepal. The Ghorepani Poonhill Trek leads through picturesque villages inhabited by Gurungs, Magars, and other ethnic communities. The trail winds through dense rhododendron forests teeming with birdlife and deep sub-tropical valleys. This trek offers a mix of uphill and downhill paths, following rivers, valleys, and forests, providing a rejuvenating escape amidst nature. At the pinnacle of Poon Hill (3,210 meters), we can witness breathtaking Himalayan vistas, accompanied by rich Gurung cultures. Altitude Sickness 

  • Understand the symptoms of altitude sickness (Acute Mountain Sickness - AMS) and be aware of the risks associated with ascending to high altitudes.

  • When suffering from AMS, do not continue the trek; instead, stay at the same location or move to lower elevations.
